According to the State of Women-Owned Businesses Report, women-owned businesses in Hawaii will make around $7.52 million in 2016, almost doubling that of 2007 ($4.97 million). That's an increase of 51.3 percent from 2007, moving Hawaii's ranking to the 9th place in the nation.
Hawaii has 47,000 women-owned firms employing about 40,000 people. Nationwide, there are 11.31 million women-owned firms nationwide that employ 8.98 million people. Revenue this year is about $1.62 billion, compared to $1.20 billion in 2007.
