Will Ferrell crashes Pelicans-Lakers game; bounces basketball off cheerleader’s face

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Not much is known about the new Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell flick filming in New Orleans. However, after a Wednesday night shoot at the Smoothie King Center, it's safe to assume that Will Ferrell's character is not very good at basketball. An upcoming comedy titled “Daddy's Home” filmed Wednesday night during halftime of the Pelicans-Lakers game. Ferrell and Wahlberg both made an appearance to shoot a scene involving a half-court shot contest… the contest goes terribly wrong. Will Ferrell hits a cheerleader in the face with a basketball. She goes down hard. (Mobile users can watch it on http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/27911058/ferrell-wahlberg-shoot-scene-for-new-comedy-during-pelicans-lakers-game). The Paramount Pictures film has been shooting in town since November 12 and is scheduled through February 3, according to our partners at Nola.com/The Times Picayune. Ferrell plays an uptight radio executive who recently married a divorced woman. He tries to win the affection of his new stepchildren when the freeloading biological father, Wahlberg, is thrown into the mix.
